Read the directions on your recovery compact disc, like for instance on mine it say to put the CD surrounded by the computer before you start it up, power up the computer while holding down the "c" knob until you see( Toshiba) on the screen release the c push button, the computer will reformat the hard drive and install the factory portrait, one the process is complete, remove the CD and restart the computer and work you passageway from there, you system have something like mine. YOU WILL LOSE ALL PROGRAMS YOU HAVE INSTALLED,so put a bet on any files you want to save or you will hold to start all over and turn to where you get them from to get them hindmost...good luck

I don't know roughly speaking mac (although I use one). On PC you need you burn CDs and drop and dragg your files into them to pay for up files. You cannot back up programs, basically documents. You should have a disc that came near your computer that has the compact disc to install windows and other programs bundled together when you purchased your computer. If you know how to reinstall after I can't understand your problem.
