Why do associates hook up 2 or more os on 1 computer?

Never did know why, freshly that they do. It don't make any sense to me.

Answer:
They may be wanting to use software written that will single run on a specific OS. Or they just hold a general nouns to use one os to do one thing and a different os for another. For example, most advanced games are written for Windows (or MAC) but if they are doing research or something that requires a great deal of batch operation or possibly testing a piece of code for work, afterwards they may do that on a different OS like Solaris, AIX or Linux. They might also lately want to play around with it a bit or want to evaluate an upgrade in need compromising their existing environment. There could be any number of reasons.
conceivably to manage two thorny drives, not sure
Curiosity
On my machine I own 4 OS's

Windows XP
Windows Vista
openSuSE 10.2
Kubuntu

I do it for development purposes, and support.

In the dated days people have to do it alot with Windows 95 / 98 and NT since NT didn't support everything.

Now a days more general public are doing it on Intel MAC's for Windows XP and MAC OS X
To use them both at their whims and fancy.

Also this enables one to swot up more about and maybe use different OSes. Like, two separate OSes ( Windows and Linux or Solaris and Unixware, ) can teach one how to use them both. The more OSes that one is decipherable with the better it is, especially for a soul who is in the IT Field, contained by their Software development hard work as well.

In this time and age we have need of to know how to use more than two different OSes at a time. This helps plentifully if one need to rework jobs, to use a given OS at work and another at home.

Moreover most OSes hold some or the other kind of dependency on another OS. I am sure that you know that the fundamental OS underlying the Internet and that makes it work is a different one from the one that you use at home. So they too are dependent on respectively other.
So you can have lots of flexibility w/ one computer w/o have to spend the money and take up the space near a second computer.
Well I have just done that once in my natural life and that was to verbs info from my old computer, to my clean computer, before I get rid of the old one...
I needed to clean my mature computer of personal info before I get rid of it...

Nowadays, I just transport info to a disc and clear out the computer that way...
However I can predict folks that have them hooked up to respectively other at the same time to hold more storage and power...
