My computer will solitary read my mouse but not my Ipods or printer. I was on the phone near hp for 3 hours but the guy was clueless. I own uninstalled all the drivers, and or programs associated beside my USB ports as well as the devices within question. We tried restarting the computer, looking contained by the device manager (no press marks or the like)said everything be fine it just couldn't describe me what the device was and it didn't hold a driver, tried every port. Which is weird because the mouse works contained by all, but nil else in any. Also the Ipods will connect but lone when the computer is in between shutting down and restarting as soon as the blue peak pops up to pick a name (windows xp) it's gone. Our ultimate hope was to rest the computer to the factory settings, we did but still nothing. It continues to read aloud USB device not recognized on adjectives. My husband wants to buy a topical computer but this has to be fixable. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Could be impossible to tell apart problem with the printer. Go to a computer store and buy a USB pci card, the speed must be 2.0, product sure it says it.
Install it and see if that works. Some motherboards that are elder will not have the most recent USB.

I am assuming that you hold the drivers installed for the USB port, and you have the drivers installed for the printer, save, that is where on earth you need to start.
Go to a restore point contained by windows.
try reinstalling window.
Does the USB mouse work in every port you place it surrounded by because maybe the ports themselves are somehow defective.
