I reinstalled window (98SE), can I delete most of the program files?

Ok here's the traffic...I reinstalled Windows (not a clean install), so I still enjoy my old window directory and all of the program files folders. Can I delete the program files that I won't necessitate safely? I plan on reinstalling adjectives the other key programs I'll use.

One article I Iearned is that all of the drivers are within the Old Windows directory in some folder call Drivers. Of course this was after I installed adjectives but 2 of the minor drivers.

Thanks for your input and expertise.

Answer:
yes u can safely delete program files folder, if u dont requirement any files in at hand (eg:- ur saved games :-) )

if u r not sure around old window directory and think some of the drivers contained by there are man used, then simply rename that out-of-date windows dirctory to .. articulate windowsOLD , then restart ur computer.

very soon if ur computer fail to restart, or it starts and complains more or less some missing driver or files, then rename that folder backbone to windows and dont infer of deleting it again ok.

if u facade problem booting into windows after renaming the folder, boot into DOS mode (good behind the times dos, i like it)
budge to c drive by typing c:
list directory content by dir
u wil find ur renamed folder
rename it subsidise to windows (ren windowsOLD windows)
consequently restart

hope that helps
Sure! Delete that ruthless "Windows" file, too!
GO ! WHY DO YOU HAVE TO ASK PERMISSION . DELETE THE OLD WINDOWS FILE TOO . I can`t stand Win 98
