Sound contained by Yahoo games disappears after 10/15 mins. HELP?

Am working past its sell-by date a Compaq with Windows 2000 Professional. Also one of four Yahoo profiles on this workstation doesn't sign in any more. Simple solution sought! Thanks guys/gals
