Answer:
You can obtain a very honourable computer for this price. Here's what to look for:
Get your tv tuner
Get 2048MB of RAM (2GB)
At least a 320 GB knotty drive ( I think you can capture 500)
It should come with dvd burner and quickly processor if it has the above specs and generate sure it has vista home premium(NOT BASIC!)

The tv tuner will allow you to monitor tv on your computer by hooking it up to your cable service.
You could plug in the cable from your TV into the computer and get hold of cable on there, yes.

You own many option for $1,200...

Okay, the first thing that I notice was that you required to play Battlefield 2 on HIGH, now i would love to do that next to my computer, but it is too slow, this example can exceed that.

The Twister VALUE from Digital Storm is perfect for a fun gaming experience at a great pro price. Each Twister VALUE is hand made from first-class name brand components.

the specs are:

Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 1.80 Ghz
1gb! DDR2 Corsair RAM
80gb WD 7200rpm frozen drive
DVD+RW Lightscribe!
nVidia GeForce 7100GS 256mb!
Windows XP Home
Mcafee Internet Security( antivirus, firewall, and anti-spyware)

also included is the essential hard core gaming complement,

the Ageia PhysX Card 128mb (with Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter!),

Which is important to own because physics are all in the order of how objects in your team game move and react. It's not merely how things look, but how they behave. In many of today's games, objects only just don't seem to exploit the way you'd want or expect. Most of the exploit is limited to pre-scripted or can animations.

Even the most powerful weapons exit little more than a charred smudge on the thinnest of walls; and every opponent you filch out falls in a strangely familiarized way. Serious gamers are not here with a fine hobby, but one with a missing sense of veracity to make the experience truly immersive. Until immediately, only fixed software physics has be integrated in games. That way physics computation has be handled by the nonspecific purpose CPU which is already burdened with the ever increasing demands of today's advanced games including team game logic and AI.

Meanwhile, the highly specialized graphics processor is fully unavailable with handling the rendering requirements of cinematic visuals at interactive framerates. As a result, physics surrounded by games has be limited to a few objects within a scene, one-off "effects" or visual trickery that only mimics real physics. Now for the first time, the AGEIA PhysX Processor deliver the computing horsepower necessary to see true, advanced physics in games.

Also comes near Microsoft keyboard and mouse, and a 2-year warranty beside LIFETIME SUPPORT!

All of this for only $1245!!!!
