I tried to open a programme and the blind went blank and it said "no operating system" but it seem to right itself when i pressed ctrl alt del. Pease help.

Answer:
Could you be running Win XP on a PC beside integrated graphics and 256Mb RAM? Opening of programmes take up adjectives available RAM and possibly the error occurs when access virtual RAM.
Try increasing RAM to at least 512Mb.
What newspaper do you have? What service pack etc?

right click your knotty drive in my computer (usually c) click properties, tools, error checking, tick both boxes, press start, iyt will next tell you it will do it on the subsequent start up so retstart your computer. hopefully you will be able to do this since the computer restarts itself. hope this helps
this is a error that i hold experienced myself mate so dont beat yourself up that its in recent times your p.c
theres many reason why your p,c is having these problems but the two biggest reasons surrounded by order of nouns are
1. hard drive...your complicated drive is about to come to nothing, and minor errors on the hard drive become serious errors contained by the windows enviroment, the symptoms are a) the eyeshade will go black and the monitor will read"no signal" b)games and applications will any freeze or crash mid session
2. graphic card..if the card is flawed then errors will come to pass especially during games and graphic intensive applications, try another card to repeal this problem out
3.memory..incompatible memory is another reason for crashes, although you can mix ddr and ddr2 speeds its allways best to use equal speeds(pc3200 ect)
4. psu...a good and sufficent power supply is a must, especially if you enjoy a high termination card which requires a power source, they eat power similar to anything
as you can see there are loads of factor that can cause your problem but i am fondness towards the hard drive as the issue here
the sense for this is the defragmenting that caused your p.c to restart(there is a process to stop the restarts go to control panel>system properties>advanced>start up and recovery>and uncheck the box"automatically restart",later press ok,this will stop any restarts due to a error)
solution: replace the hard drive and if your p.c supports s.a.t.a easier said than done drives then use these drives as they are quicker and enjoy less errors than the elder p.a.t.a drives
any problems let me know
pious luck mate!
you have somewhat performed a restart surrounded by safe mode travel through the proces fully to recover your system. ctrl+alt+del this will impart a black screen near white writing scroll down to restart in not detrimental mode then press enter. maclaren.
You own got a virus on their a horrid one at that please don't say you enjoy norton on their this is mereley spyware and takes 90% of your systems resorces. If you do uninstall norton and down nouns the following. AVG,Spybot,Adaware all these three work as a troop and don't use any resorces whatsoever. This will fix your problem if you can get it to travel that far that is.
