Is a PENTIUM-D if truth be told 64-bit?

I own a Pentium D 3.0GHz, and of course the D vehicle Dual Core, and when I go to my Device controller it shows me that I have TWO 3.0 GHz processors...

So what I really want to know, is if I buy VISTA PREMIUM, can I run the 64-bit altered copy?

Answer:
no, a Pentium D is actually a 32bit processor. more momentous is if it has the instruction set EM64T implement, this makes it fit to run 64bit applications.

as you can see on the following site, all Pentium D processors enjoy the EM64T instruction set implemented, even the elder 8xx series.
yes, you can run the 64bit version of Windows Vista.

yes pentium d is 64 bit

Intel(R) EM64T requires a computer system beside a processor, chipset, BIOS, operating system, device drivers and applications enabled for Intel EM64T. Processor will not operate (including 32-bit operation) without an Intel EM64T-enabled BIOS.
yes
Intel D processors are virtually hold two CPU's, but not physically. The 64bit of Win XP works with if by other doesn't give much difference from solo CPU. Intel Dual Core processors hold physically 2 CPUs but with smaller number speed. Go for Dual core or AMD 64 CPUs.
You just own to make sure you enjoy a 64-bit complaint motherboard, look in your motherboard almanac or call the company that you bought it from and ask. My best guess is that you probaly do. goodluck on your 64 bit OS
Yes it is virtually a 64bit dual processor.

to see if the rest of your system can support Windows Vista.
