PC on/off reset switch wrong plug for hot motherboard, Help!?
The old switch is 8 pins within a row, empty, black, green(Power LED),blanked, black, Yellow(HDD LED), black, Red(power/reset switch). It be originally a HP pavilion PC.
The new Motherboard is a ASRock 775i65G and have 9pin (2 rows of 5) plug, PLED+, PLED-, PwrBtn#, blank, HDLED+, HDLED-, GND, RESET#, Dummy.
Does anyone know what sort of plug this is and where i can buy a tentative front panel switch/led display that will fit. Also is there a sudden way to fire the laptop up by shorting the PwrBtn# pin to GND just to turn the workstation on. I know that the atx power supplies don't need the power button pressed contained by once the pc is on, they will simply turn off if it is held on for 4 second. This means it's get to be a momentary on switch so shorting the terminals should work, i freshly need to be sure of the terminal.

Yes, it is a momentary switch. You should only enjoy to short the PwrBtn and the one next to it to obtain it on.
If the old connector have all 8 pins on impossible to tell apart plug, you could just verbs each individual connector out of that 8 pin plug and attach them to the motherboard manually. Otherwise, you could to progress a pc repair shop and see if they enjoy any old cases that you can get in the connections off of and next just splice them to your suitcase.
Sorry to say but you should shift buy a new luggage ultimately as the MB and PSU may not fit correctly in your armour
on most towers the leads for reset and hdd lead are terminated by a single plug for each to some extent than one plug for all.
as surrounded by a previous answer, you could remove the pins from the plug and put them where needed, but dont forget to use some insulating cassette between them
