I own obtain my brothers ex notebook. If I use the retrieval disk to wipe everything, will i lose window as economically?

It 's a packard bell and i want to strip it subsidise to how he brought it 18 months ago with XP pre installed. Any assistance?

Answer:
the recovery disc is a pious bit of kit,its deeply a windows xp disc designed for your singular p.c
by installing this you will return the p.c to its "factory defualts"or the way it be when your bro took it out of the box
it will take around 40 minutes to re-install window and when complete you need to install protection software and microsoft updates, and also the drivers for a)chipset b) graphic card c)broadband router and others
so insert the rescue disk and follow the on-screen instructions, once finished here are some free anti-viruses and anti-spyware for you to download, why not download them now and burn them to disc, and hold this ready for when the repossession disc has completed so you hold software ready to install
anti-virus.....avast 4.7(http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-...
anti-spyware....spybot(http://www.safer-networking.org/en/downl... personal..(http://www.download.com/ad-aware-se-pers... and window defender..(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...

nouns drivers...(http://us.creative.com/support/downloads...
microsoft windows updates..(http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupd...
and for any patch or updates for your particular computer here is a relation to the packard bell website..............http://www.packardbell.com/products.htm...
what i normally do is run stale a disc(cd or dvd) with adjectives the nessecary drivers and security software on it,so when im doing a fresh window installation like yourself i own all the software and drivers i requirement to hand so i am not looking for that driver that i later saw about 2 years ago
any more assist or advice mate a moment ago let me know
righteous luck and happy spanking new year!
The recovery disc will return it to the state it be in when it be first purchased; you will still have Windows XP.
no. the point surrounded by the recovery disk is to put it support to the state it was contained by when it left the factory near windows and zilch else installed.
IFit works dont use recovery disc basically look in control panel at add/remove programmes,to be precise a start
wow, i didnt know packard bell still makes computers ahahh i used to know the owner, israeli guy....

Anyhow... if you FORMAT after yes it will wipe it out.... but if you have the repossession CD clear sure it has WINDOWS on it, and y ou should be ok...
If it is a reclamation disk, it should bring it back to how it be 18 months ago. I recovered my computer several times using software and it didn't remove my OS.
dont use your recovery disk purely yet... try to run system restore first if your have a problem with the comp. except then bring back the phonebook and find a computer store to wipe the drive. they will install windows "xp" is the best right very soon and they will give you medium package, virus software...the in one piece works the comp will be in brand strange state. www.myspace.com/jimmycody
The recovery disk will filch it right back to the means of access it was when he first bought it, be in motion ahead and do it you'll be OK.

Good luck and Happy New Year !
No, i beleive the only mode to lose windows is to do a format of the harddrive. The rescue disc should return it to the settings it was at from the factory.
yes u will lose window because i kno from experience so dont do it u may have 2 restart your comp beside professional help if u do. if this help u it should.
of course if you format the article you'll lose everything

why not just delete bits sour the hard drive?

what i would do contained by your poision is just create my own commentary, (as administrator) then pick anything you might approaching from the stuff he has and after that delete his tale.

yes

all of it (if you don't really involve anything else)

it's quit easy to do from user accounts surrounded by control panel which you'll find if you look to your left and up after clicking the start button.

that passageway you've got lots of free space and you don't own to install all the applications again and you'll enjoy an account that you can modify to your distinctive specifications...

the method you're suggesting is borin and tedious! |-D

try mine. (i hope i buried your question and you find this of some help)
No. HOWEVER it will take rid of word and other programs that included in Micrsoft bureau.

If you are wonting to wipe it completly you have to be in motion into a comand prompt and format. But i think your best bet is going into control panel, donate / remove programmes nad then only just delete the programmes you dont want. Obviously after this you will have to delete files as in good health but be careful if you do that because you dont want to delete system files.

Hope this help!
The recovery disc will wipe everything and reinstall window as it was when the notebook was purchased.

It will do exactly what you obligation it to do. Just put the disk in the drive and boot the laptop (you may need to trade name the pc boot from cd instead of the concrete drive).

Then just follow the instructions.

Remember to brand sure you put security on it up to that time connecting to the PC such as firewall and antivirus as the windows it insalls will not be updated to fix indemnity issues. Also make updating window the first thing you do
