Don't do Dell. They hold good marketing on TV but their Tech Support is really desperate. You will have trouble finding someone that speaks English. Everything is outsourced to India.

Dell is fitting for support. If all you want to do is run games and download/play music, get hold of a computer with 1 GB (2 if you want it faster), a dual core processor (1.5 or higher), 256 video card and at least possible 80 GB's of hard drive. I would suggest a desktop unless you have need of it for mobility. The cost will change drastically between models. Just select a cheaper model (with a duocore processor) and supply the things that you want (listed above). Pretty simple. Should be about $800-1000.
