On the Motherboard you will see a supporter, turn on the computer and see if that fan is working monitor it for the time it takes the computer to shut down and see if it shuts bad at any time before the puter shut down or freeze.. if it is not running or it is running slow it inevitability replaced. cost is about 15.00.

sounds close to it may be overheating.
you want to check the fans inside and the power supply.
if the fan are not working... get hold of a new one. if it is the power supply...gain a new one.
You probably hold a bad power supply.
Sounds close to power or heat issues to me as resourcefully.
depends how old it is. if its more than 7 years out-of-date than you better get a hot one if not try checking the wires one might be loose or the admirer is not working properly
The first item I would recommend is to pull the cover and check for dust buildup. It may in recent times need a virtuous vacuuming. Also check the operation of the on board fan, especially the CPU fan and bake sink (if it has one) and the power supply devotee. Be sure to suck all the dust buildup inside the power supply also. If that doesn't lend a hand, you probably are in entail of a new power supply.
