How to properly install a second DVD/CD drive onto your computer?..?
Answer:
Shut down and Open your PC Tower.
Plug it surrounded by to the same IDE cable as the other Rom drive.
You will own a flat thing that looks close to duct tape, to be precise the IDE cable.
It has a rectangular piece of plastic on it, i.e. the IDE plug.
Put the end of that plug beside the red mark on it towards the power plug.
You can use any power plug. (P1, P2, P3, etc) to supply power to the drive.
You also call for to activate it surrounded by the bios. Press F2 (on most PCs) during boot up, that will take you to the BIOS, the settings for the bios can differ from PC to PC, but most of the time you can find it underneath the list of drives.
Make sure it is set to Automatic.
nope. plug and play is almost the only window feature i resembling.plug it in and past its sell-by date you go
If you are tallying a burner and both your hard drive and existing CD/DVD drive are on one and the same cable, just add on the new drive to the current IDE channel. You will find it on the motherboard, typically subsequent to the one already in use.
I other try to keep the burner and the reader on two separate channel. And if you're using SATA controllers and drives, I'm not sure, but I don't think it matter as the transfer speeds are incredibly in a hurry and reliable.
use usb connect very cheap when use connect to the usb interface. when not use agree to it out .very cool.
hey look at the motherboard when you stretch out up your computers base component...
there should be a grey flex plugged into your first DVD drive, and there should be another slot on like wire for the second one
best entity, put the second one right under the first one, connect the information cable as described above, then the power cable, later boot up and ur good to shift!! this way both your dvd drives are inside your platform unit..
this is the fastest result. near usb, your speeds will be lowered, and e.g. if you want to watch a DVD on it you might catch frames being skipped sometimes...
If your going to install a second drive put it on like peas in a pod ribbon your other drive is using. There are usually another slot to plug it in this prevents more ribbons man installed. You also have to set the drive to Slave for it to work properly. Usually have a black pin and a diagram to put it in the right place.
