My DVD-ROM&RW drivers are showing error code 39, can someone give a hand?

My drivers are ruined and are showing error. I've uninstalled and reinstalled them but that didnot work at all. Can somebody support?
I have an hp computer(running XP) beside a IDE DVD-ROM 16x and a RICOH DVD-RW drive. I've had it sense 2004

error code 39 which medium a corruption in the registry, try DL fresh drivers for it from the manufacturers website.
Thats the problem as long as your connected to the internet the computer will update your drivers you probaly get the wrong driver and when thee computer installed it automatically it was the wrong book so know its no longer compatible.
