External Hard Drives?
How do I choose one, If it over $200, no path?
Any suggestion, on what to get?
Answer:
Couple of things..
what do you want it for: extra storage? games, music, photos, movies??
If you only want some extra storage, go beside a 40GB-60GB external hard drive, if you hold on to a bunch of photos, or movbies go beside a bigger on say 60GB- 80GB, if you play seriously of mp3s or have a bunch of notebook games or programs that you use, I would go for one the is 100GB and over..
doesn`t matter what you do, stay AWAY from Maxtor Hard Drives..then tend to stop working after a while and bring back corrupted real confidently
They're all pretty righteous. Look at price and warranty length. WD or Seagate have excellent warranty.
You can easily win a 1 TB external harddrive for just more or less $200 .
If ur computer supports Firewire, go surrounded by for a Firewire interface external harddrive. If not go surrounded by for a USB2.0 .
Maxtor is the best company in external harddrives, u could also consider Western Digital.
Go surrounded by for a minimum of 250 GB, now that the prices enjoy comedown.
Just go down and buy the one that match your budget. They're almost all USB 2. I've used dozens of Maxtors for backup and never have one go fruitless.
It would be kind of intricate to get a 1 TB for $200 since they don't exist however. You should be able to swing a 300MB for smaller quantity than $200.
here's a link to them on ebay.
There are several things:
USB 2.0
Under $200
Hard Drive dimensions? (Probably limited by cost)
3.5 or 2.5 inch not easy drive?
External power supply OK?
Any shape or color?

I would similar to to know where Naveen is getting a 1TB external for lower than $200 at. You can check out www.tigerdirect.com they have abundantly of external to choose from. I would go near atleast 250gb or even the 500gb external. I have a external luggage (holds 5 hdds and it has 5*500GB hdds contained by it now) I have greatly of movies on them. Those 5*500gb and the case cost me around $600.You hold to consider warranty also. Maxtor used to have a 3-5yrs warranty but that might own changed since Seagate owns Maxtor now. Seagate, Western Digital or IBM variety good HDDS..You can capture a MyBook 1TB for $450 is the cheapest I have found anywhere. .Thanks
