Computer query?

My mouse does not work on my computer, when I plugged a brand new one up it still will not work what should I do about this problem. Will a wireless mouse work

Answer:
if u are using ps2 mouse, consequently u hv 2 restart ur pc to fashion sure
the pc can detect the mouse after u plug surrounded by the mouse. but if u use usb mouse, this may not necessary.

for solid case, if above problem still exists, u enjoy to check
ur CMOS/DOS configuration. restart ur PC and press button del
to enter CMOS/DOS interface. find mouse configuration and set it to detect the mouse based on type of ur mouse(either PS2 or USB).

that's adjectives.
i believe something may be wrong new mouses atleaste do not require an instalation does it plud within via usb "retangular" or a green "circular one"
If it is a serial port mouse, it may not be hot pluggable.
Make sure that the port where u plugged it contained by to your computer is correct, and make sure it is free of dust and ruins. Otherwise you can contact geek squad or firedog because it might be internal damage.
Make sure you are using the right hookup. Some computers approaching HP and dell are color coded because they use the same "connectors." Meaning, the the ivories and mouse use the same "outlet." Therefore, makesure you are plugging your mouse surrounded by the right connection on wager on of the PC.
Are you using a USB or PS2. If its a USB the ports may be bad. Do other USB devices work? If PS2, conceivably there is somethinf stuck inthe plug and use a USB but next you'll be in impossible to tell apart boat. I need more info. If the USB is unpromising a wireless is useless.

The Syko Ward
you will need to install the drivers for the mouse beforehand you use it... most mice will work with XP so you should be capable of just plug it contained by...wireless mice you will need to install the drivers
No, a wireless one will not work... You probably never install the mouse driver. Remember to install the mouse driver. If the Mouse come with a compact disc ROM, then install the driver from the disc to your computer.

Thank you.

check settings in the control panel. a wireless mouse probley won't be predictable either since it have to be connected in equal port.
was it a usb mouse or a PS2 mouse? looks close to ur usb or PS2 is bad. buy a usb mouse and try another usb port...
be sure you've loaded the software that go with the tentative mouse - if you haven't rebooted your computer I would do that first and it should find the new mouse by itself. If it doesn't brand sure the mouse is plug in carefully. you can also go the the control panel - below mouse and review the settings there to net sure everything appears right in those settings.
Likely driver 'missing' contained by action, conflicts setting-depending on systems used,(bios settings -enable Plug&Play)
My guess is you are plugging it surrounded by while on and you just have need of to restart the PC. I build PCs and with XP i own never installed any drivers XP has most of them already. even my Logitech wireless beside all kind of features. And it is posible that you just get a bad one.
Wireless mouses work alike way as non wireless. Is your current mouse a ps2 or a USB?
