I purely bought a little headset piece with a mic to use on an online winter sport, but I also have a built surrounded by mic on my monitor...so it won't stop using that as the default device no event what I do, and the computer doesn't do anything with the headset when I plug within it (I tried with port on the front and the rear of the computer). Whenever I go to control panel->sounds and audio devices, the just thing ever timetabled is the built in mic contained by the monitor! The headset didn't come with any compact disc to install it with and I can't find the solution anywhere...can anyone PLEASE lend a hand?

My dear, you dont install any software for mic or head set. software is just for your soundcard. If you have two mic, you hold to physically stop the other one being used, ie remove or switch it past its sell-by date. Otherwise both will work together
