Is reformatting a memory card a must?
what is the relevance of reformatting? is this a stipulation?
and if i am to reformat, will all the background ive saved be lost?
Pls advance me on this. This is all trial to me.

Reformating erases all of your notes on the memory card. It is almost like a reset button. Also, reformatting can also penny-pinching the it can be formatted for a Mac or PC. This means if it is formatted for PC right in a minute it won't work on Mac and vise versa
