Are these sockets equal ??
im not sure but im basically seeing the same board sometimes next to a different socket .. so??
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.as...
this is SOCKET AM2? correct
but if you go to the largest site.
http://www.biostar.com.tw/support/cpu/so...
and click on CPU support it says socket 940..?
Answer:
Well this is a mistake made by the Biostar website. Both socket AM2 and socket 940 use 940 pins, but they hold different names for a judgment. The motherboard in examine is socket AM2, and it is incorrectly named on the Biostar website. You can bring up to date by the list of processors that the site list as compatible with it, those processors are compatible next to socket AM2, not 940.
Not quite duplicate. Here read for your self.>
