I bought and installed the ECS p965t-a motherboard and can't bring back more than one HD to work. Why?

Answer:
As people enjoy said, check the jumper settings of adjectives your devices. On each IDE drain (cable) there will be a connector partly way up the cable and another one right at the thoroughly end of the cable. Whatever device is at the back of the cable should be set to Master, and any device half passageway up should be Slave.
And if you don't know what I mean almost jumpers later this is the kind of entity you're looking for:

The jumper is somewhat plastic tab that sits over one of the pairs of pins on any hard drive or CD/DVD drive. There should be a diagram on the put a bet on of the drive showing you which pins need to be covered for respectively setting (master, slave or sometimes 'cable select).
did u check the jumper settings on the HDDs
Sounds close to you didnt set the jumpers on the devices properly!
boot sequence should be cdrom afterwards HD0 .... the main bios page should show drives .. look for other bios settings for settle and make sure ur timings are correct ...try loading bios default if nothing else ... its somthing contained by ur bios settup or cabling ...
I enjoy and ECS board but not the same one as yours. check your bios in that is a setting for the ide slots where on earth you can enable 1 or both of them.
I notice on the ECS website that there is an IDE driver available. Did you nouns them from your motherboards startup disk?
Here is the website where can download adjectives the drivers and manuals and bios updates for your board.
