Will this memory work together?

I bought a Dell desktop a couple of months ago and it come with 2 gigs of DDR2-SDRAM PC2-4300 (266 MHz). I bought 2 more gigs to upgrade my computer but found out they are DDR2-SDRAM PC2-5300 / 667 MHz. I know my board supports it but can you mix MHz close to this?

Yes, the RAM is backwards compatible. So, if your motherboard is rated at 266Mhz, your unmarked RAM will run at that speed. But if your motherboard can handle the faster speed, it will run at that speed. So, the DDR2's will adjectives run together, but at the motherboard speed.
They will work, but I am wondering if you can install them. Normally the expansions are used in pairs of chip sets. If you hold 2G then in that are 2 --1G sets normally installed. By buying 2G more, you will enjoy to remove 2 simms and install 2 simms which will give the squirrel away amount. If you have one 2G simm, you can remove one of the existing and install the alien one for 3G total.

From my understanding, if you hold PC2- 4300s, you should stick with that when tallying additional memory because in that could eb a conflict.
