My microphone is not time-honoured by my computer?

My mic used to work fine, for some aim I unhooked it. Now, I hook it back up and I own tried everything to get my computer to see it. I've gone through the "wizard" and when It prompts me to speak into the mic, I just procure a message to check to see if it's hooked up properly...etc. I don't see any way my microphone itself have any internal problem. It's a cheap one from wal-mart, didn't come with or have need of any software. Thanks

The same problem occured with me...
First of adjectives, you should go scientifically and steadily to resolve the quiz.
1) Check your port (CPU) with another headset..
2) If nearby is no problem with another, next ur headset might be defected...
3) Download Trial Audio softwares close to Adobe Audition & check the recording setting and check it again.
4) Otherwise move about to Start > Accessiories > Entertaintment > Sound Recorder > Click on the record button & speak something.. see whether it shows any fluctuation or not..
5) Reinstall / update the driver of the nouns card...

These techniques can surely resolve ur query.. If they don't u can contact me..
