The Z series belonging to Logitech (with THX certification) would probably be best for movies and gaming. It has a loud prescence surrounded by terms of bulky bass and mid range. It depends if the type of music you play is the sort that go well next to a certain type of speaker set. If you're into lashing metal and rock, the Logitech ones will serve you well, but if you're playing soothing music lacking emphasis on remnant, you would choose a speaker set that has correct high lapse sound (tweeters) and mid scale. Creative speakers are quite honest as they cater to this range and they're musically better fairly than for gaming with loud booms, explosions etc.
Depends on you ear and your pocket book. Best, does not automatically connote most expensive. I purchased Altec speakers 2+1 about 12 years ago. I enjoy used them on the 3 replacement PCs I have have in that time. Prices hold really come down. On the expensive side, Bose now make PC speakers. I have hear them in the store and they too nouns great to my ear.
For under $100.00, Bose make a great speaker system for PC's.
Bose would do =D
