Computer sounds close to it is race when not self used, as soon as I touch the mouse, it quiets down. whats up?

Could be a cd contained by the cdrom drive. I had a workstation do the same article. It's not harmful, lately annoying.

It may be that you have set (unintentionally) some software to run when the computer is languish, like conceivably virus scanning, and so when you touch the mouse and remove the computer from its stand still state the process stops. Check what software you have running. Google Desktop may also be indexing while your computer is decline.
Well, do you have a disk or floppy surrounded by there that should not be...? Otherwise it may be that sometimes a computer make that noise when going into a rest mode. and when you touch the mouse the desktop shows up,,,, correct? It is usually a conventional function of the computer.
Its the fan kicking on probably at lowest possible that's what mine is!
