In my experience they have a 5 minute time out which turns themselves past its sell-by date. Don't worry around it. If the device is going to be off for a long time, pilfer the batteries out so they don't soak.
Simple = Remove the batteries
Sometimes it have a "power save" mode.
But they should have switches. On the mouse it should be underneath, essential the laser.

Well dear the item is that these devices are configures so as to use minimum battery when not within use, you may have notice that when you pick up the cordless mouse after a while the light go dim and when you bring your fingers near the laser, the laser turns bright. Well this is how they own arranged for minimun battery usage but if you want to turn them sour, ill suggest you flex a little switch to the side of the mouse so that you can turn it sour, but it would be uncomfortable because i have did that.
I found that if the cordless device does not have any on/off switch, I call for to take out the freestyle.
