Where can I find a CD-ROM drive that plugs into my computer lacking taking my computer apart?
Answer:
External disc Rom drives are pretty easy to find. They plug into a USB port on your computer. They are usually for a while more expensive than the internal drives and are typically slower. Make sure you pick one that is supported by your operating system (Windows 98, ME, XP, etc.)
Replacing an internal drive is not as knotty as you might think.
* Remove 4 screw to take bad the case.
* Remove 4 screw to allow the CD drive to slide out.
* Disconnect the communication cable and the power cable.
Slide within the new drive, reconnect the cable, put the screws stern in and you're done.
At the connect below but it's not that hard to start on up your computer and put an internal one in yourself and and internal one would be faster, cheaper, and more convenient.
You can take external USB cd or dvd drives. Here's one I found at mwave.

You could get an external disc drive, though by the time you have it adjectives hooked up, it won;t be as good as an internal, nor as cost significant. I could walk you through installing an internal one free of charge if you do want to go the internal route.
near are several USB external models on the market... you can also buy a external bag and put a CD DVD drive within

You're looking for an external drive, which you can buy prettymuch anywhere. Personally I'd recommend using a price search for "external cd drive" on something approaching Froogle.com. If you're using a newer PC, you should have a USB2.0 nouns; look for a drive supporting this. On a Mac, you might have Firewire, so look for an external drive that connects by Firewire.
External CD-ROM drives are in a minute very cheap - you should know how to get one for $25. CD-R/RW drives are more expensive, but you should still know how to find an external one at a low price.
You will have to rob the cracked one out.
You can get an external CD-ROM drive, uses a USB connector.
Just move about to Wal-Mart, Radio shack or somewhere....they sell CD/DVD drives, but depends on if its a burner which will cost you more...on the box fashion sure it says External Drive...The external ones usually plug into the USB port....The speed of your external drive probably depends on if your USB port is a 1.1 or 2.0
