Why does my 80Gb internal HDD which I enjoy converted to a USB HDD enjoy merely 2 of 4 partition detected?

I hold 4 20Gb partitions on this converted USB HDD and previously adjectives 4 could be detected. However, after upgrading to win XP service pack 2 and installing a few security patch, I always solitary manage to detect duplicate 2 partitions near the other 2 being see as generic storage partitions but in need a drive letter assigned to them. As such, I cannot access the notes. Is there anything I can do short of popping the HDD pay for into a system again? I only hold a laptop at the moment. Thanks

Probably because you changed it to USB, it doesnt recognize the other partition. Can you update your details telling me if it is a SCSI or SATA drive?
