How do I hook up a second computer to my modem?

I enjoy Time Warner cable modem (made by motorola), high speed internet. I call for to hook this up with a second computer. How do do it? I bought a wireless router. Do I involve anything else?

Can I run a 20 feet long ethernet or USB cable to the subsequent room?

Answer:
Run the outgoing cable from the modem into the Input slot on the router. Run the first output cable on the router to your first computer. Run another output cable from the router to your second computer. If you want wireless connections, you need a PCI or USB Wireless Card for your computer. Here is a knit for a good one explicitly USB and simple to install:

I would suggest wiring the first computer if it is fundamental the router and if the second computer is near chain it as well. If not, buy that adapter. You can probably find one at your local computer store (i.e. Office Depot). You will want one adapter for each computer if you plan to do wireless for both computers.
