First: If you're comfortable first performance your PC case and if you've get the room, get an internal, no request for information. Get a geek friend to help if have need of be. Externals take up extra space, and extra power plug, they're slower, etc.
Try www.newegg.com for other. They ship quickly and accurately, never have a hassle with 'em. Don't dance for the most expensive. Just get a cheap (preferably a nickname brand you know) 16X DVD burner. They're all nearly the same. Sure some are better than others, but who care if it takes 5 minutes or 6 minutes to burn one? Close adequate for guberment work!
Don't sweat the details on something like this. You're not buying a unmarked motherboard to base a adjectives new PC on. It's freshly a add-on burner. Get a geek friend to comfort install an internal burner.

GOOD LORD....Frankly, it is not that hard.
All " internal " is recitation you, is that it is manufactured to go within the tower case...screwed down. It is NOT " external " or seperate from the crust which is usually connected by a USB connection to the tower. (Plain & Simple)
YOU CAN... buy a internal DVD device or firm drive, then buy a EXTERNAL USB CASE for approx $30 (shop around) - and TURN ANY INTERNAL into an EXTERNAL USING THAT CASE.
When using external devices though, you hold to make sure they are sitting on something flat where on earth they won't get knock around or jogged cause skips, etc while you are using it. That is an easy opening to lose everything you had save or were trying to amass.
