My "T.One" 5GB USB Mass Storage Device won't appear when inserted?

This USB storage used to work on adjectives my Windows 2000 and XP machines - but lately it won't appear at all contained by "My Computer". I still often hear the ping when I insert it, I usually still see the inserted device statue in the bottom railing, and I even get messages indicating that a USB device have been detected. But it won't appear and I can't seem to be to access it.

The only drivers that come with it are for Windows 98 so I don't own anything to reinstall (although I have looked for a long time on the internet to try and find something). I don't know if these are built within windows drivers or what.

Anyone hold any ideas how I can find the computers to "see" the thing again? I really can't afford to lose the contents of this piece. It would take me a long time to replicate...

Thanks.

Answer:
The USB device may enjoy suffered a power surge while the device is connected. It can happen if you incorrectly cable front USB ports to the motherboard. Try it on a different machine (I'm guessing you have), and see if it is nominated in the device arranger.
