Why isnt my dvd drive stopped no more?

heyz,
i own the panasonic DVR-111D burner, it was working
suitable till i installed windows xp professional over vista beta 2,
the item is the bios aint detecting my drive :(, i tried changing the
power cable..didnt work,set the drive to slave...didnt work, mix the slave with respectively diffrent pwoer cables...didnt work, however the drive still powers...similar to ejects when i press the eject button...
whats wrong?,give support to me

It's possible that the driver for the DVD drive has be corrupted. Go to the Device Manager in Hardware underneath My Computer, right click on the drive, and select "Uninstall". Then reboot, and Windows should find the drive as "New Hardware" and re-install the driver for it. That often does the trick. Good luck.

It should say, "Why is my DVD drive no longer working?" or "Why isn't my DVD drive out of use anymore?" or "My DVD drive isn't working anymore, why is that?" There are many other ways, but it is extremely strong to answer a question when you can't get it
