USB fuse blown out?

I bought myself an external USB hub. It is self powered and I regard it blew off the fuse to the USB ports on my laptop.
XP will not find any devices unless it is connected surrounded by some way to the hub, ie (device to hub and hub to laptop) or (both hub and device plugged at like peas in a pod time to laptop)
Is it possible to change the fuse myself?
Where can I bring a fuse and how much will it cost?
How much approximately will it cost if I have it repaired by read out PC world?

Answer:
There are four wires in a USB cable, two for information, and two for power. Now you said your hub is externally powered, so that means the facts lines are still intact in your notebook, its only the power lines that are dilapidated.

If you can see where exactly its blown you could try repairing it, should be honourably simple.
I've been told the together Port needs to be replaced. I mull over around $80 at our local computer repair shop.
over $90
What do you mean by 'self powered'? I've not see any USB hub that isn't powered by the port it plugs into.

What makes you focus you've blown a fuse? I wasn't aware of there human being a fuse anywhere near the USB ports - i wouldn't hold thought there be enough power available to warrant one.
