What DDR Ram do I necessitate?
I'm looking at getting 2gbs for my pc but enjoy come across all sort of different types, & am really unsure as what I necessitate.

Since you have an Athlon XP 2500+ you would be need standard DDR ram. The merely AMD processors that support DDR2 are on the AM2 platform which start at 3000+

the dated athlon xp 2500+(and similar models)processors are very upright ,although around 3 years old they still are appropriate solid chips,i still have a athlon p.c somewere contained by the house
first mate you need to run the crucial online utility(http://www.crucial.com/),this will scan your system and return a report near what type of memory modules to buy and also the make of your motherboard,it also let you know what type of graphic card you want to buy
2gb of memory isnt going to come cheap,you are probally looking at around lb150 and over,depending on the make you shift for
all make are ok,for example,the kingston value capacity are sometimes critisised,but i use them and there extraordinarily reliable,however if you want gaming memory a make close to O.C.Z would be a good purchase,but these are enormously expensive,other makes similar to corsair and even crucials own make are also highly good

For a Socket A processor that you hold. You will have a DDR1 Mobo.
Go for Cas3 DDR400 (3200mhz) - 2.6v - any brand should work. Get the ddr 400 as it will allways run at a slower speed if your mobo cant support it (eg: 333mhz). Buying slower hit isnt worth the hassle and costs about equal.
Any generic Kingston/cruical memory should do the trick or you could splash out on cruical balistix or any of the OCZ brands :)
