Why is Battlefield 2 wadding and pause too much on my gaming computer?

my battlefield 2 other lagging and pause so much and it annoys me so much. I turned up into maximum or default setting (everything are high) and it still filling and pauses oodles times during the game. I'll show you my custom gaming computer's spec.

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0Ghz (Overclocked 2.2Ghz)

2 Evga Nvidia Geforce 6800 GS on Sli

Consair XMS 1GB DDR 400MHZ (PC 3200) Dual Channel (overclocked 440 MHZ)

2 160GB Maxtor DiamondMax Hard Drives 7200 rpm
*First one used for Window XP local disk and second one used for swapdisk* I'd defragmented both easier said than done drives by using PerfectDisk 8.0

BFG 650 watts power supply (supported Sli and Dual PCI-Express)

Any ideas? I involve to make my battlefield 2 smoother and want to net best quality emblem! Any upgrades? You can tell me what giving of problem! I still using latest driver Nvidia Forceware 160.02 from TweaksRus.com

Well judge by your configuration, the CPU maybe be bottlenecking your SLI set-up. That as all right as the memory being individual 400Mhz. Memory these days are twice that speed. If you are conversation about internet wad however Battlefield 2 is notorious for server fill, mostly due to EA games rushing of the development.
