How do hook up a micraphone to a PC ?

First of adjectives,you didn't say what quality of computer or headphones you own..I have window xp system and purchased my headphones near built in mic baptize Logitech..cheap set...
my panel on the front of my computer opens to show usb ports and also earpiece hookups. My headset came near color coded cable that matches the ones on my computer. See if yours have this and plug each contained by proper hole.
