Question just about 2 Geforce 7950GT's running surrounded by SLI mode.?
The motherboard I was thinking give or take a few getting has 2 8X PCI express slots for SLI, and one PCI express 16X slot if you required to run just one card. That's why I'm asking.
Answer:
Yes the two cards will be faster, as you hold double the number of rendering pipe lines. This is more relevant to system speed and bottlenecks rather than the speed of the video sub system bus. The speed increase of two cards is more pronounced the sophisticated the resolution and anti aliasing that you specify. at lower resolution, the difference is negligible.
Yes. The bus speed isn't the bottleneck beside video cards... yet.
Your slots are PCI-E 16x. Your 7950GT cards are PCI-E 16x.
*However* when surrounded by SLI mode, the system can only verbs data to the video sub-system at PCI-E 16x, which is the equivalent to PCI-E 8x per card.
Hope that help.
