HP Optical mouse stopped working - give a hand!?

Computer diagnostics say the mouse is working properly, but really, it's not moving the cursor or arrow. What can I do?

Answer:
Did you check the batteries surrounded by the mouse? My optical mouse does not run down slowly, it just stops working. New battery every six months or so and no problem!
give it a worthy dusting and get the hover on it!
does it involve batteries? If its not that brand then I guess I dont know
the laser might be messed up
i freshly had to move the batteries surrounded by mine last week. it freshly all of a sudden stopped even though the red restrained on the bottom was still on. if this don't relieve you may need a unsullied one.
If it is plugged into a USB port, try swapping to a different USB port. Try plugging in a trial mouse and see if it isn't the connector on the Motherboard. Need more information to be able to assist you.
If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem next to device drivers, hardware or software.
