Can i rework my AGPx4 to AGPx8 slot ?

i'm in the order of to buy a new video card that supports x8 , the problem is that my AGP slot supports x4 ,because i want the verbs of data to be better so nil would go wrong .
thx for answering :)

Answer:
check near your mother board spec. many AGP's are both 8x and 4x compatible, as are plentiful cards... however if yours is not, then you must own the card for that slot....

oh, and AGP is still prevalent, it is ISA that is heritage.

there are PCI video cards out nearby, but they don't always functions as capably as the dedicated AGP for video
Its doubtful, they are two separate things. I would individually just buy a trial motherboard. AGP is pretty much dead. PCI Express is what most ethnic group use now.
redeploy the slot and the whole motherboard near it
No, you cannot update your AGP slot. The chipset that controls the slot is integrated into the motherboard.
Sorry
I doubt it, unless you can get a BIOS update for your MB to support it. And if a BIOS flash fail, you may have a limp MB.
Generally the only agency is to get a exotic MB.
If I was doing that, I would procure one that supports the newer PCI-E, it's faster than AGP8x.
there is no course you can change it.
but nearly every 8x agp card works beside 4x slot, but the performance will be reduced. and also it will be lot better than you previous 4x card.

Dont spend too much on it. The age of agp is over immediately.
