Answer:
Go into Control Panel, System, Hardware Tab, Device Manager Button.

Click the plus sign subsequent to sound, video, and winter sport controllers.

Delete your sound card from the catalogue. There are probably other soundblaster related items here, you could just delete them adjectives.

Some devices require you to install the drivers first, you might want to do this again before reboot if this be the way you originally installed it, otherwise, merely reboot and you will either be capable of install the drivers later, or it will already enjoy them.

The computer will go through the strange hardware found process and allow a fresh start with that piece of hardware.
Go to start menu --->adjectives programs-->accessories-->syste... tools-->system restore

and try using a restoring to a date that sound worked
You can try doing a system restore to a date at which the nouns was working; you can also move about to Device Manager, uninstall the device (it probably has a red "x" beside it surrounded by the list), then re-boot the system; it will believe that it have found "new" hardware, and reinstall the driver.
If reinstalling the driver does not bring back the nouns, the card may have died and will involve to be replaced.
