As long as you hang on to them in pairs surrounded by the same bank. The 521 has 4 slots and will rob up to 4GB. It should see it as 3GB and run fine, better then fine.

You're more potential to be successful with a congruent pair. If the 512MB sticks run slower than the GB sticks after they will be dragged down and will underperform. Ditch the 512s and whack in the GBs... 2GBs if more than plenty RAM for most of us.

if they same bus speed it is ok , otherwise merely use the 1 GB cas the performance will be better, you wil own to try and see though, some memory works good , if you start geting errors and the PC locks up remove the 512

some RAM you necessitate to double up. This means if you ant 1024 MB of RAM you have need of 2 512MB sticks, one 1024MB will not work.
Also you need to look at the speed of the RAM ... 333MHZ sticks are not going to work as very well for 400MHZ stick and in some programs this will create crashes.
Also consider your motherboard. There are limits to the amount of RAM you can put into your appliance. If you board has a shorten of 2 GB of ram, if you enjoy 4 slots and put 4 1024 MB sicks in it you are still going to enjoy 2 GB of RAM. I'm not even entirely sure if the computer will function if there is too much RAM or if it will purely cut off similar to i have examplified above. I never individually got close to the reduce of RAM my motherboards can hold. It is usually excessive for anything I would be doing.
