What am I not doing right copying my dvd's?

Apparently I obligation a step by step explaination. I'm not computer illiterate by any means, and I individual want to back up my own dvd's (mostly Finding Nemo for my granddaughter). I own Nero that came beside my new burner, and I also downloaded AnyDVD, but when I tried to download, first it wouldn't run from drive to drive, and when I tried to burn it to my computer, it said I had over 1000 hours to turn. If someone could lead me completely from scrape, I would be grateful. My granddaughter has already worn out 2 different copies of Finding Nemo, I just want to build her a copy since it's almost impossible to find anymore.

Answer:
Try going to http://www.softpedia.com and search for DVD Shrink...it works really flawless....Nero won't copy Copy-Protected DVD's....DVD Shrink also Makes Dual Layer DVD's (8GB) into the size of a Regular DVD+R (4GB) ...Most Movies you buy from the store are 8gb and most blank DVD's are 4gb....unless you buy Dual Layer blank DVD's which are a bit more...so give it a try and hope this be any help...
