Ethernet cord??

Okay, tolerate me try to explain this the best way I can...
I basically purchased a new phone which will connect thru the computer..but I enjoy a problem..There is a Ethernet cord that comes with it. but the cord won't fit into the fund of my computer. it is too big. my slots are the size of a regular phone jack cord. Im figuring it's because my computer is too out-of-date (i've had it since 97)..in a minute my question is, Is at hand such a device that I can put on the Ethernet cable in establish to convert it to the size of the jack? i hope this makes sense..but if it doesn't and you call for further info, just agree to me know..thanx a whole lot!

Answer:
You want to buy a new computer because that computer that you own most likely will not be capable of run that phone. Easy rule of thumb when it comes to computers after 3 year there desperate. That computer is almost 10 years old and will not know how to run that phone and the ethernet card. Sorry to be the bare of bleak news. You can be in motion and get a hot computer that can run it for about 500 dollars and belevie me your going to see a difference contained by the speed and everything.
You need to buy an "Ethernet" card! Go to Compusa or Best Buy, or Circuit City and narrate them you need an "Ethernet" card.
Time to buy a unknown computer.
I have not come across any description of adapter that will all transform ethernet to a standard phone plug. But that doesn't mean they don't be paid one. You can purchase a high-speed ethernet card for your computer at best buy or Circuit City or even Staples. They are usually about $15-$19. And installation is remarkably easy!
you shouldn't be using a computer base on this question. You own a modem in your contrivance that connects to a phone jack. You are trying to put an ethernet cable into the modem. In order to connect the ethernet cable you requirement an ethernet card inside the machine. I despise to ask what the other end of the ethernet cable is connect to. I am puzzled as to why a phone would come beside an ethernet cable unless its a VOIP phone that needs to be connected to a VOIP router.
You call for an RJ45 (ethernet) to RJ11 (phone) adapter to do this but yet your internal modem will read the traffic coming contained by... you will need to install an ethernet card (PCI) if you enjoy a slot on your motherboard, or you might have to upgrade your PC perchance, it looks like it might be time...
Yon call for to get a smaller cord. Or win a new computer. (You can capture a different LAN jack.)
