How Do I identify Unknown Hardware by the the subdivision number?

I own Some computer hardware that I was given. I am pretty sure it is R.A.M. I want to identify it to see if is compatible next to my computer. I would also just similar to to know if it is R.A.M. or not and if not next what is it?

If its a part number, a simple google flush with this number should show results...otherwise bring it to a local computer store and ask them what you hold. Dont worry just about feeling stupid. This is in truth a very intelligent query.
