Is my computer worth repairing?
and the instructions included with the memory stick i call myself adding 256.worth of memory. after reassembling the computer and plugging it put money on in when i cut the power button on zilch happens.some how i own killed the together thing.readily we don't have the reclamation disk and even if we did would it help? should i give somebody a lift it to the shop or just permit it go to computer glory

Firstly, remove the new RAM that you enjoy added. If your PC starts, then you are within good luck otherwise, thieve it to a service station. In case you system is booting after taking out the unknown memory stick, then, the problem you are facing can be explained below:-
The two sticks of memeory i.e. RAM on the PC own to be identical i.e. same speed and same size of RAM. So any change the spanking new memory stick to match the existing one or remove the dated one and let your system work beside the new memory stick i.e. 256 MB of RAM although today anything smaller quantity than 512MB is not recomended. Incase your system is not working next to the new memory after removing the mature one, then, your PC doesnot support the fresh memory stick in prospect of the reasons scheduled below:-

Hard to say lacking the model number and honestly anyone else would just be guessing.
Is it Windows XP? If it's not or Windows 98 odd's are that is to say an older model.

uninstall the 256 stick of knock against and try booting it.. if it boots the ram might of be incompatible... if it still doesnt boot just return with a new 1...
Take the bright stick of ram out and try to boot the computer next to the origional stick. If it boots up and runs then the problam is prolly that you bought strike that is incompatible next to your system. OR, you could take out the ripened stick and try it with a short time ago the new stick. Most motherboards simply hold a certain amount of bump. Such as 512MB. What that means is that if you own 3 memory slots, you can only hold a total of 512MB.
