Adding more memory?

Do I inevitability to change any settings(in control panel or other) if I append 1gig or more RAM to my PC?

Do I need to loose change 'virtual memory' setting at all after calculation more RAM?

I've added 1.256gig RAM and it's acting little funny. Videos are bit more sluggish than before.

Answer:
try removing the 256 and see if that help. they may not be compatible.
You should not need to variation any settings after adding more memory to your PC. The certainty that it's acting funny may indicate that:
1. The RAM that you added is not compatible with the system.
2. The RAM that you added is not properly seated surrounded by the slot on the motherboard, and therefore, is not person recognized.
3. You enjoy exceeded the maximum memory capacity of your PC, base on what your motherboard and operating system can support.

It's hard to inform which of these without more information.
Some board are singular capable of so much memory.Like mine tops out at 1 gb 512 per slot. After that yeah you enjoy to do alot of changing.I'd reccommend a better rugged drive such as 15,000 speed and a great processor.
Take out the 256 and see, some mobos have issues near two different sized RAM sticks. Also check to see if the speed and the type of ram is correct and compatible beside your mobo. Windows *should* automatically recognize and use the RAM, if anything you can cut the amount of Virtual RAM because of the extra RAM. It saves HD space.
