USB 2.0 Port location?

There are a couple of things to save in mind... you may be getting this message if using a cable which is solitary USB 1 -- the way to inform is if the cable is not printed with something similar to "USB2" then it is USB 1... if using a USB 1 cable you will grasp this warning even if using a USB2 port.
Second, If your computer is elder than 3 years... it will most certainly be a USB1 port... since USB2 is a huge selling point... it will almost other be labeled "USB2" somewhere on the card or device connection port... if you dont find it, assume USB 1 port.
I used to enjoy this problem with my outdated computer. This is what I tried.
1. If your external hard drive is ripened or cheap, it may not be compatible with USB 2.0; however, this is probably not the issue.
2. If your USB cable is out-of-date it might be a USB 1.1 cable instead of 2.0. Also, it is better to have a shorter cable when possible because it will craft your speeds slightly faster.
3. Lastly, your computer might be old. If your computer is 2.5 years or elder, it probably wasn't built with USB 2.0 ports. I'm pretty sure that if you required to upgrade this in your computer it would be pretty cheap, but you should bring in sure your motherboard is USB 2.0 compatible. Also, it isn't really worth the effort because the simply difference is a speed increase.
By the way... if your computer have Firewire ports (i think they are also call IFFE 1445) these are faster and specifically made for external hard drives, but if your computer is elder, it might not have these.
