Do I want more RAM surrounded by my computer?

I currently own 1GB of RAM and a PentiumD 2.8Ghz Processor. I run Iolo System Mechanic every now and to restore your health memory, but my PC and Internet still slows down drastically. Would more RAM help?

Answer:
You've get more than enough CPU and RAM. It thoughtful of sounds like you may hold some spyware on your machine. I would run Run Ad-aware or SpyBot and afterwards run a virus scan.

After that, I would then travel to Start -> Run then type "msconfig" (without the quotes), afterwards select the startup items tab and see how many programs are booting up when window starts. You may be surprised...most programs set themselves to run when windows boots up by defaulting, so you could have 50 processes running even though you closed adjectives the windows. Hit control-alt-delete as economically to see how many processes are running right presently.

If all that doesn't give support to, you may want to check your hard-drive for problems.

Stuff like this is why i switched to Macs :)
Yes more RAM will abet you. First I would do a Disk Defrag and a Disk clean up. Then I would buy more RAM.
Nope 1gb and a pentium d 2.8 is excellent.

The first guy doesnt know what hes conversation about. Additional memory wont do anything unless your memory is entirely used up. Only games and video editing can do that to 1gb.

You call for to get rid of backround programs and startup programs.

Also do some spyware scan with spybot poke about and destroy.
With 1GB of RAM, you shouldn't hold memory problems, unless you are running a whole lot of programs. I would download a program that let you see everything that is running and shows what's starting automatically at startup. (www.whatsrunning.net) Also run an AV Scan and Spyware scan.

Hopefully this help you out.
1GB of ram is alot contained by my standards. I only use 512 mb and still is pretty quickly. Usually more memory will speed up your programs and internet browsing but 1GB should suffice. It might be that you have a spyware running within the back ground.
memory is not the problem
