NEC dvd/cd writer can no longer read cd's?

I reinstalled the driver but still does not work. I create in your mind I need a contemporary drive but I was wondering if this is adjectives? This is the second time in a couple of years this have happened. Still read and writes DVD's fine.

Answer:
It's not too hard for a burner to bring back out of alignment and read DVDs but not CDs, or vice versa. It's just worn out.

My plextor did the same entry. It's a drive problem you will have to buy a latest one. A couple/few years out of a dvd/cd burner is a good buy they're cheap and most of the time if you catch a little over a year out of them you get your money's worth
