Is your USB locked? I know some USBs own small switches on them that goes from locked to unlocked. I've locked mine back and I couldn't access it, but I just flipped the switch after I notice it.

That is awfully strange. Perhaps you need administrative privileges to use it? That doesn't sort much sense though. Perhaps you have to install software that allows your computer to communicate near the flash drive. Silly question, but you are plugging it contained by all the channel correct? I have found some flash drives don't fit into my computer, one and only in my laptop.
Security can be set on the computer to block use of USB devices. If you own a U3 drive and don't have administrator privileges, you'll enjoy to hold the shift key while you insert it.
