the lone problem is that it is intergrated with my mother board can i disable the graphics card and reinstall a tentative one? can the graphics card be fixed (i have tried reinstalling it and it didnt work!) if it cant what do you recomend i buy?

Answer:
What exactly is wrong beside the graphics card? Are you getting no picture at all?? Did it only die all of a sudden? You could try reseting the BIOS to its factory settings and after doing a fresh install of Windows and see if it solves the problem. If not you can try and RMA it and get a strange one from the company. If that all fail you have two choices, replace the motherboard near another hat have integrated graphics or add a seperate video card. You own to find out wheter your motherboard uses AGP or PCIe slots. Then just find an inexpensive video crd a 7300 or x1300 will be fine, I would try and find one that doesnt use a enthusiast though as they can be quite riotous.
if your integreated video isn't working, its probably the port that has become worn out.

To buy a graphics card you need to know what type your mother board is compatable for (AGP or PCI-E)

Radeon or Nvidia are the better video card brands.

I own a Nvidia 8800gtx PCI_E with 756mb of video memory.
if it's integreted, most likly you not be competent tro fix it.
you don't have to do nought, just get hold of new card and place it within and install drivers for it you'll be good to be in motion.

I'll recomend good and cheap ones:

You prevalent built-in video card, yeah.you can disable it to the CMOS of your system, which is located at the very first booting of your computer.

Just choose - AGP or PCI video card...
but be sure that your AGP or PCI Video Card is inserted on your AGP or PCI Slot.and monitor is connected into it.because otherwise, you will not see any dot to your peak.

CHANGE IT INTO RADEON..THEY ARE NICE...OR NVIDIA...
I Advise That You Just get A New One.

If Your The Gaming Type, Then Get a MSI GeForce 8600GTS 256MB PCI-E Graphics Card
as for the workstation it's a desktop ? if it's not you can't replace a gfx card in a laptop..

depends on what type of notebook it is, as it may only support the agp or pci format (older type cards)..

i wouldn't buy one straight out, i would breed sure thats the problem as theres no point in buying something if that might not be the exact. perhaps bring back one to test it , to clear 100% sure.

as for the gfx card currently in.. you achieve a display up? are you sure you have the right drivers as near are different versions for different version of windows 98+me ... and 2000+xp etc

i use a 7600 gt .. the bios may involve to be told to switch off the onboard card, of it will shut it bad when something is plugged in.
